Half Day / Whole World
The Half Day / Whole World program strengthens the cultural competencies of youth participants on early dismissal days.
Launched in 2011, the program is a fun and educational alternative for middle and high school students on days when they’ve been dismissed early from classes. Participants gather together for a festive lunch featuring different ethnic cuisines, such as Thai, Chinese, or Japanese food, expanding their taste buds and their global horizons at the same time.
After lunch, students take part in an interactive experience geared to their interests while exposing them to the music, fashion, language, dance, and games of other cultures.
